If you're a Bank of America Customer, their free museum program gives you access to the Phoenix Art Museum and Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) on the first full weekend of the month. The MIM also has a variety of free concerts and performances that do not require museum admission. The second Tuesday of the month gets you free afternoon admission to the Desert Botanical Garden. Enjoy the outdoors, art exhibits, and beauty of the desert. Every Wednesday afternoon, you can take in works of art for free at the Phoenix Art Museum. Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art has free admission every Thursday from 12pm-8pm courtesy of SRP. And Children's Museum of Phoenix is free the first Friday of every month.
If you're a Phoenix Public Library member, you can check out one of the best free things to do in Phoenix, a Phoenix Public Library Culture Pass that gives you free 2 person admission to Children's Museum of Phoenix, Desert Botanical Garden, Deer Valley Rock Art Center, Phoenix Art Museum, Pueblo Grande Musuem, Phoenix Zoo, Scottsdale Musuem of Contemporary Art, Arizona Museum of Natural History and the Arizona Science Center. To get your culture pass, go to your local library and find the Culture Pass Card for the venue you'd like to visit. Take the card to the circulation desk for check out, and the library will give you a date due slip that acts as your free admission pass to the institution. The culture pass slip expires in 7 days from check out, and does not have to be returned to the library.
A few always free museums are Arizona Capitol Museum, ASU Art Museum, Chandler Museum, Mesa Contemporary Arts, Phoenix Trolley Museum, and Shemer Art Center & Mueseum. Between free museum days at some of the major museums and these always free options, you could spend a week at museums and never pay a cent!
